01Who we are
Dubloon (listed on the App Store as “Dubloon by Cluso”) is a voice games app for iPhone and Mac. It is made by False Peak in Zürich, Switzerland. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean False Peak. “You” means the person using Dubloon.
False Peak is the controller of the personal data described here. That means we decide why and how it is processed. You can reach us at contact@falsepeak.ch.
This policy covers the Dubloon app. It also covers this website, a set of static pages hosted on Google Firebase Hosting. The website sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking scripts. Like any web host, Firebase Hosting processes your IP address to deliver the pages, and the fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which also sees your IP address. The reverse-singing booth on the home page records and plays back in your browser only; the recording is never uploaded.
02What stays on your device
Dubloon is built to work without a server of its own. The following is stored only on your device, in the app’s own Documents folder:
- Reverse-singing recordings.
- Dub voice takes.
- Sound-imitation attempts.
- Booth Cam footage from the front camera. This is video only; Booth Cam does not record its own audio track.
- Exported videos.
- Dub packs you import.
- Saved sessions and scores.
The app never uploads any of this. We do not receive it, and we could not see it if we wanted to.
Backups and the Files app
Because this content lives in the app’s Documents folder, it is included in your normal iCloud or computer backups of your device. Apple handles those backups under Apple’s privacy policy, not ours. On iPhone and iPad, the app’s Documents folder is also visible in the Files app, so you can see and manage these files yourself.
On-device scoring
Every score is calculated on your device: dub timing, pacing and delivery; reverse-singing similarity; and sound-imitation rhythm, pitch, tone and length. Dubloon does not use speech recognition, does not send your voice to any machine-learning service, does not create voiceprints and does not process biometric data.
Preferences
Dubloon also stores a few small settings on your device, in the system’s standard preferences storage. These are: whether you finished onboarding, interface mode, haptics and sounds, headphone monitoring, whether scoring is on, Booth Cam settings, best scores, counters used to decide when to ask for an App Store review (number of app opens, days of use, shares and great scores, and whether you have imported a dub pack), the date of first launch, and early-adopter flags. Tips shown in the app are managed by Apple’s TipKit and are also stored locally.
Deleting it
- Delete individual dub packs and sessions inside the app.
- Use Settings → Delete all booth takes to remove all Booth Cam footage.
- Delete the app to remove everything it stored on the device. Copies may remain in backups you made before, until those backups are replaced or deleted.
03Microphone, camera and Photos
Dubloon asks for system permissions only when a feature needs them. You can change each one at any time in your device’s Settings (iPhone, iPad) or System Settings → Privacy & Security (Mac).

When you share an export, you choose where it goes. Whatever app or service you send it to handles it under its own terms.
04What we collect
Dubloon does collect a limited amount of data through the services described in the next section. None of it includes your name, email address, recordings or video.
Usage events
Anonymous events about how the app is used. For example: which screens are opened, when a game starts, recording duration, scores and grades, changes to playback speed or pitch, when the paywall is shown or dismissed, whether a purchase completed or failed, and the export settings you chose.
Device and app information
Firebase Analytics also collects standard information automatically: a random app instance ID, device model, operating system version, app version, language and locale, country (derived from your IP address) and session information.
Crash and error reports
When the app crashes or hits an error, a report is sent with a stack trace, device model, operating system, app version, locale, which game or screen was open, and line counts of the dub pack in use.
Information about imported dub packs
We want to be clear about this one. When you import a dub pack, usage events and crash or error reports may include text taken from the pack file: its title, author names, file or folder name, the source work and source URL it declares, its number of lines, and the names of files inside a pack that failed to import. We use this to find and fix import problems. The audio and video inside the pack are never sent.
Feedback you send
If you rate the app inside Dubloon and choose to write a note about what went wrong, the note and the star rating are sent to us through Firebase Crashlytics when you press Send, with the same device and app information as an error report. Nothing is sent unless you press Send. Please do not put personal information in the note. With Share usage data switched off, the note is offered as an email to us instead.
Purchase information
If you buy Dubloon Pro, or when the app checks whether you qualify for it, purchase information is processed as described under RevenueCat.
We do not set a user ID in analytics and we do not attach user properties. The app instance ID is random and is not linked to your name, email or Apple Account.
05Services we use
These providers process data on our behalf, under their own data processing terms with us.
Google Firebase Analytics
Provided by Google LLC and, for users in the EEA and Switzerland, Google Ireland Limited. It receives the usage events and device information described above. We use it to understand which parts of the app people use and where they get stuck. See Firebase privacy information.
Firebase Crashlytics
Also provided by Google. It receives crash reports and non-fatal error reports, including, for import errors, the pack title or folder name and file names described above, and any feedback note you choose to send. We use it to fix bugs.
RevenueCat
Provided by RevenueCat, Inc. in the USA. RevenueCat manages in-app purchases and subscriptions for Dubloon Pro. It receives:
- An anonymous RevenueCat app user ID generated on your device.
- Your App Store receipt and transaction information: products purchased, purchase dates, subscription status, the original download date, and country and currency.
We use this to unlock Dubloon Pro and to restore purchases. The app does not send your name or email to RevenueCat. See RevenueCat’s privacy policy.
Apple
Payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. The request to rate the app uses Apple’s StoreKit, and Apple decides whether the prompt appears. Apple’s own handling of your data is covered by Apple’s privacy policy.
06Turning off usage data
Open Settings → Privacy → Share usage data in Dubloon, on iPhone or Mac. It is on by default. The switch arrives with the next update of Dubloon; until you have it, write to contact@falsepeak.ch and we will help.
When you turn it off, Firebase Analytics collection and Crashlytics crash reporting stop from that device from then on. Data already sent before you switched it off is kept for the periods described under retention.
Turning it off does not affect purchases. RevenueCat is still needed so that Dubloon Pro works.
07What we never do
- We do not sell your personal data.
- We do not use your data for advertising, and there are no ads in Dubloon.
- We do not use the advertising identifier (IDFA), do not show the App Tracking Transparency prompt, and do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
- We do not ask you to create an account.
- We do not upload your recordings, takes, footage or exports.
08Why we are allowed to
If you are in the EU, the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, data protection law requires a legal basis for each use of personal data. Ours are:
- Performance of a contract. To provide the app and your purchases (RevenueCat, Apple).
- Legitimate interests. To collect anonymous usage statistics and crash reports so we can fix bugs and improve the app (Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics). We keep this data minimal and not linked to your identity, and you can switch it off at any time.
- Legal obligations. Tax and accounting records for purchases, which Apple and RevenueCat keep as required by law.
09How long we keep it

10International transfers
We are based in Switzerland. Google and RevenueCat may process data in the USA and other countries whose laws may not offer the same level of protection. When that happens, we rely on the safeguards these providers offer, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and, where applicable, the EU-US and Swiss-US Data Privacy Framework.
11Your rights
EU, EEA and UK (GDPR, UK GDPR)
You have the right to access your personal data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. Where we rely on legitimate interests, you can object at any time; the simplest way is the Share usage data switch. You can also complain to the data protection authority in the country where you live or work.
Switzerland (revised FADP)
You have the right to information about your data, to correction and deletion, to object to processing, and to receive your data. The Swiss supervisory authority is the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), which you can contact at edoeb.admin.ch.
California (CCPA/CPRA)
You have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request its deletion and correction, and not to be discriminated against for using these rights. We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of in that sense. We do not use sensitive personal information.
How to use your rights without an account
Because Dubloon has no accounts, we usually cannot link analytics or crash data to you. The app instance ID is random. In practice:
- Turn off Share usage data to stop further collection.
- Delete the app to remove all local data and its identifiers. A reinstall starts with a new, unrelated app instance ID.
- For purchase data held by RevenueCat, email us with details of your purchase (for example the order ID from your App Store receipt). We can then look up and delete the anonymous customer record in RevenueCat, as far as we are not required to keep it by law.
- For anything else, email contact@falsepeak.ch. We will answer within the time limits set by law, usually within 30 days.
12Links and dub packs
Dub packs are files you pick yourself, from Files, AirDrop, Finder or iCloud Drive. The app itself does not download packs.
The app may show links to other people’s websites: GameBanana, where people share dub packs; Blender Studio’s Sprite Fright page, for attribution; and, on the Mac, the Freesound page of each bundled sound. The 24 sounds used in Sound Imitation are CC0 clips from Freesound that ship inside the app, so playing them uses no network. When you open a link, that site handles your data under its own privacy policy.
13Children
Dubloon is rated 13+ on the App Store and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. The app has no social features and no way for users to message each other. If you believe a child has provided personal data to us, contact us and we will delete it.
14Security
Content stays on your device, where it is protected by iOS, iPadOS or macOS data protection and your device passcode or login password. Data sent to our service providers travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS). No system is perfectly secure, but keeping your recordings off our servers is the strongest protection we can offer.
15Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page and update the date at the top. If a change is material, we will also mention it in the app’s release notes.
